Whole cranberries, sugar and spices. It really doesn’t get much easier or much more delicious than this.
I know canned cranberry sauce is a staple for a lot of tables at Thanksgiving time. For me, however, anything canned pales in comparison to making it fresh. This recipe is pretty simple and provides a really nice cranberry sauce.
Recipe Ingredients
- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 3⁄4 cup water
- 3⁄4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon gound allspice
- 1⁄8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt

- Wash and drain cranberries
Cooking Instructions
- In a medium pot, combine 3⁄4 cup of water, 3⁄4 cup of packed brown sugar, *1⁄4 teaspoon of ground allspice8, 1⁄8 of a teaspoon of ground cinnamon and a pinch of salt over a medium heat and stir together.
- Add 12 ounces of fresh cranberries
- Reduce heat and simmer until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens to the desired consistency
