Cranberry Sauce

Whole cranberries, sugar and spices. It really doesn’t get much easier or much more delicious than this.

I know canned cranberry sauce is a staple for a lot of tables at Thanksgiving time. For me, however, anything canned pales in comparison to making it fresh. This recipe is pretty simple and provides a really nice cranberry sauce.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 34 cup water
  • 34 cup packed brown sugar
  • 14 teaspoon gound allspice
  • 18 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Recipe Directions

Preparations

  1. Wash and drain cranberries

Cooking Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, combine 34 cup of water, 34 cup of packed brown sugar, *14 teaspoon of ground allspice8, 18 of a teaspoon of ground cinnamon and a pinch of salt over a medium heat and stir together.
  2. Add 12 ounces of fresh cranberries
  3. Reduce heat and simmer until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens to the desired consistency
