Macaroni and Cheese

As with most kids, my son’s favorite dish is macaroni and cheese. It’s generally a favorite among most of my family. This version uses processed cheese to make it quick and easy, with a little block/shredded cheese for extra flavor. It’s an easy, tasty side dish that goes great with just about everything.

Yield: Approximately 6 cups

Total Cook Time: 20-30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 6-8 cups Water to boil noodles
  • 2 cups macaroni noodles, uncooked
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 8 ounces processed cheese product (230 grams)
  • 34 cup milk
  • 2 ounces any block or shredded cheese (60 grams)

Cooking Instructions

#. Bring 6 to 8 cups of water to a boil #. After the water has come to a boil, add 2 teaspoons of salt #. Add 2 cups of uncooked macaroni noodles to boiling water #. Boil noodles until they reach the desired tenderness, then drain and set aside

  • Noodles should not be too soft as they will continue to heat while the cheese is melted

#. Add 34 cup of milk, 8 ounces of processed cheese (230 grams) and 2 ounces of any block or shredded cheese (60 grams) #. Heat over a low flame until the cheese is melted #. Return cooked macaroni noodles to the cheese sauce and stir to combine
